Grodno is the oldest Belarusian city in the north-west of the republic that borders on Poland and Lithuania. It is located at the mouths of two rivers Gorodnichanka and Neman. The name of the city comes from the name of the river. Goroden or Gorodnya is an old name. More old streets and historical buildings have been preserved in Grodno than in any other city in Belarus.
